She was predeceased by: her parents, George Albert Bailey and Grace Elizabeth Moore Bailey; her husband Claude W. Newton of Yonges Island, SC; and her siblings, Beulah Bailey Pye and James W. Bailey.

She is survived by: her children, Claudia F. Newton Banks (Al) of Charlotte, NC, George W. Newton of Summerville and Albert B. Newton (Scarlette) of Rock Hill, SC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
