He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Barton Smith Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Anderson Smith; and his uncle Max Reid Anderson. He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Sanders-Smith; his children, Melanie Jo Trammell (Conley) of Union, SC and Richard Beckham (Melissa) of Chester, SC; his sister Sabrina L Smith of Charlotte, NC; his daughters, Marie Jordan (Brandon) of Rock Hill, SC and Noel Harnish (James); his stepson Frankie Sanders (Brittany) of Rock Hill, SC; and his grandchildren, Raylin Starr Beckham, Rose Lynn, Gregory "Rhett" Harnish, Brielly Whiting, Tinsley and Camden Sanders.
