He was predeceased by: his parents, Almetta Sowell and Jesse James Sapp; his sisters, Billie, Betty and JoAnn; and his son-in-law Joe Tauchen.
He is survived by: his wife Shelby W. Sapp; his daughters, Lisa Granger, Lori Sapp of Rock Hill and Lynn Tauchen of Mechanicville, VA; his grandchildren, Scott Granger (Peter) of Severn, Jesse Izquierdo (Julian) of Austin, TX, Erin G. Hurd (Stephen) of Richmond, VA., Liam Genier and Annie Tauchen of Mechanicville, VA; his great grandchild Julia Izquierdo of Austin, TX; and his brother Ray H. Sapp (Linda) of Lancaster, SC.
