We announce the death of Mark Allen Brunson of Rock Hill, South Carolina, who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 65. Mark will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Mark’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry "Bill" Brunson and Betty Jean Winter Brunson. He is survived by: his sister Pamela Jean "PJ" Brunson of Rock Hill; his uncle David Winter of Sumter; and his aunt Miriam Dusch of Radcliff, Kentucky.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home & Crematory (221 Broad St, Sumter, SC 29150). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Brunson Cemetery (700 W Oakland Ave, Sumter, SC 29151).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to a local animal shelter or humane society in honor of Mark's love for animals.
