He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred (Kathryn Gabel) and Kaye. He is survived by: his wife Kaye; his son Troy Gabel; his daughter-in-law Tracy Gabel; his daughter Stacy Bick; his son-in-law Marc Bick; his grandchildren, Clayton Gabel, Kate Gabel, Alexa Bick and Kyra Bick; his sister Leslie Staib; his brother-in-law Neil Staib; his nieces, Milesa (Mike Brunetti), Kellie (Dustin Cramer) and Amy (Kyle Underwood); and his extended family, Griffin Berrigan and Danielle Berrigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to Moffitt Cancer Center (https://fundraise.moffitt.org) or Atrium Health Foundation's Levine Cancer Institute, honoring Mike's hope that others facing cancer would receive the same exceptional care, compassion, and encouragement that sustained him throughout his journey.
