It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pete Powell of Rock Hill, South Carolina, who passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Foy Powell and Josie Pearl Powell; his siblings, Bernard, Dess Powell and Rena Shaw; and his great grandchild Trey Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Shockley Powell; his daughters, Vicki Powell Thompson (Jerry) and Marlene Powell Lane (Gene); his grandchildren, Renee Thompson Hudson, Nikki Thompson Weissinger (Mike), Casey Anderson Rucker (David) and Dusty Thompson (Shannon); his sister Annette Powell Jordan; and his pet Babydoll. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and one more precious great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 2296 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, SC 29730. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Northside Baptist Church (1140 Curtis St, Rock Hill, SC 29730).
