He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Foy Powell and Josie Pearl Powell; his siblings, Bernard, Dess Powell and Rena Shaw; and his great grandchild Trey Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Shockley Powell; his daughters, Vicki Powell Thompson (Jerry) and Marlene Powell Lane (Gene); his grandchildren, Renee Thompson Hudson, Nikki Thompson Weissinger (Mike), Casey Anderson Rucker (David) and Dusty Thompson (Shannon); his sister Annette Powell Jordan; and his pet Babydoll. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and one more precious great-great-grandchild.
