He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Robert Weiss and Martha Emilie Ehrentreich. He is survived by: his wife Elin Clair Weiss; his sons, John Robert Weiss (Catherine) and Jason Allen Weiss (Candace); and his grandchildren, Armando, Delilah, Anesia, Richie, Lauren, Santana, Trinity, Ivan and Kattianna. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
