He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Leon Sr. and Mary Zelda Mangum; and his sisters, Ophelia Sanders, Sue Vick and Harriet Glen.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Mangum; his daughter Rhonda Devinney (Jerry); his stepdaughter Lisa Carroll; his grandchildren, Amanda Oakes (Joshua) and Joshua Devinney (Bethany); and his great grandchildren, Easton, Lily-Ann, Abigail and Charleigh.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Anchor at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mt. Gallant Rd, Rock Hill, SC.
