With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Simms Blackerby of Rock Hill, South Carolina, who passed away on November 18, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel E. Simms and Grace Griffin; her husband Davis Patrick Blackerby, Sr.; and her son Davis Patrick Blackerby, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Deborah C. Blackerby, Patricia B. Giles (Billy), Virginia L. Blackerby and Joel E. Blackerby (Jeanette); her daughter-in-law Nora Faedo; and her grandchildren, Taylor Blackerby (Olivia), Weston Blackerby (Karina), Samuel Aaronson, Savanna Blackerby, Olivia Blackerby, Mary Caroline Giles, Daniel Giles (Grace) and Elle Blackerby. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley's name to First Baptist Church 481 Hood Center Dr. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
