He was predeceased by: his parents, William Eugene Medlin and Margaret "Margie" Blue Sanders; his daughter Billie Jo Hansen; his siblings, Charles Robert Medlin, Freida Kaye Sanders and Stephanie Sanders; his granddaughter Shirley Auten Scott; and his stepfather Early Fred Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Tonda Medlin of Rock Hill, SC, Robin Harris of North Carolina and Jesse J. Vanzant of Price, Utah; his sisters, Nona Jean Medlin Harris (Garland Wesley Harris Sr.) of Lawndale, NC and Sonja Nell Sanders of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Amy Auten, Donna Reynolds, Tiffany Ramsey, Timothy Miller, Katrina Beck, Aleasha Hansen, Isaac Hardee, Dustin Patterson and Jaydee Patterson; his great grandchildren, Nathan of Johnathon, A'Jay, Nevaeh, Daniel, Heaven, Michael, Brooklyn, David, Dalton, Colton, Clayton, Graysen, Breckie, Weston and Trig; his siblings' children, Marsha McClelland Smith and Tracey Alexander Dailey; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Garland Wesley Harris Jr. of Rock Hill, SC and Robin Kaye Harris Porter (Dwayne Porter) of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.
