He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo L. Cox and Rita W. Cox; and his brother Don C. Cox of Charlotte. He is survived by: his wife Emily Ruth Finch Cox; his children, Dr. Mandi Cox of Spartanburg and Brad R. Cox (Caroline Tyson Cox) of Greensboro; and his grandchildren, William, Charlie, Kirby and Mary Louise. He is also survived by four nephews; and several cousins.
