He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward O. Simons and Louise G. Simons; and his sister Susan S. Barnes (Joe). He is survived by: his wife Donna Trail Simons; his son Shawn Simons of Charleston, SC; his stepchildren, Rhiannon Wyatt (Daniel) of Roebuck, SC and DJ Wooten (Jessica) of Jacksonville, NC; and his grandchildren, Kylie, Jackson, Kaitlin, Julia, Caidenn and Kimber.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307).
