He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alexander Pilgrim and Edna Mae Wilkins Pilgrim; and his siblings, Deloris Pilgrim and Benny Pilgrim. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Coleman Pilgrim; his children, William Jermaine Pilgrim (Jennifer) of Moore, SC, Shaun Leval Pilgrim of Spartanburg, SC, Demetries Perrin (John) of Atlanta, GA, Twanna Fleming of Spartanburg, SC, Latonya Andress (Rodrick) of Pensacola, FL and Benjamin Smith (Jahmilla) of Berlin, NJ; and his siblings, Rev. Ray Anthony Pilgrim (Jan) of Greenwood, SC, Jerry Pilgrim of Union, SC, Mary P. Hamlet of Spartanburg, SC and Marilyn Benson of Kings Mountain, NC. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Piney Grove Baptist Church (2085 Mayo Rd, Cowpens, SC 29330).
