He was predeceased by: his parents, David Newton Strickland and Bennie Mae Chassereau Strickland; his grandsons, Brett Strickland and Hunter Strickland; and his siblings, Sue Myrick and Bob Strickland.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Smith Strickland; his son Dave Strickland (Rita) of Ruffin; his grandsons, Justin Thomas (Hilary) and Kyle Thomas (Lindsay); and his great grandchildren, Mason and Camille.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Carters Ford Baptist Churchyard (4689 Lodge Hwy, Lodge, SC 29082).
