With sadness, we share the passing of Belle Whetsell of Saint George, South Carolina. Belle, born on August 17, 1932, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Hardee Horne Howell; her husband John Derham Whetsell, Jr.; her mother Alice Belle Howell; and her brothers, Kirklyn Harris Howell and Reginald Howell.
She is survived by: her children, John Derham Whetsell, III (Johnny), Barry Howell Whetsell (Wendy) and Mary Ann Whetsell Childs (Brad); her grandchildren, Pressley Ann Childs, Brooke Childs, Kelsey Alexandra Gervasi, Taylor Nicole Richards and Brandon Wayne Richards; her great grandchildren, Madison Olivia Gervasi, Karson Lynn Gervasi and Cooper James Richard; her grandchild Harper Lane Richards; and her sister-in-law Henrietta Howell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. George Cemetery (5667 County Rd S-18-200, St George, SC 29477). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
