He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis Wimberly and Sue Kizer Wimberly; and his brother Donnie Wimberly. He is survived by: his wife Deborah F. Wimberly; his children, John Richard Wimberly, Jr. (Sandi) of St. George and Tammi Wimberly McAlhany (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Gavin McAlhany, Alli Wimberly McCall (Gabriel) and Sara Wimberly Bryan (Joe); his great grandchildren, Addi Mae McCall and Wills Bryan; his sister Emma Sue Stoudenmire (John David); his sister-in-law Donna Wimberly; his niece Dayna W. Smoak (Ryan); and his nephews, Don Wimberly (Ashley) and Roger Wolfe (Angela).
