We announce the death of Mendel Roberts of Saint George, South Carolina, who passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 88. Mendel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jackie, Raymond, Eugene, Eurel Nettles and Lourie Benton; and his grandson Philip Dalton.
He is survived by: his wife Dene; his children, Tony Roberts (Amanda) of Saint George, Gereldene Auton (Gary) of Orangeburg, Beth Wirsching (Phil) of Walterboro and Patsy Lipscomb (Tommie) of Ortonville, Michigan; and his grandchildren, Amanda Grimsley (Patrick), William Roberts, Lilly Greer (Garrett), David Auton, Josh Auton (Emily) and Laura Auton. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 3 and soon to be 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
