He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Ray Ridgeway; his parents, Joseph "Joe" Edwin Ridgeway, Sr. and Leola Cantey Ridgeway; and his brother Joseph Edwin (Ridgeway, Jr.). He is survived by: his children, Michael Ridgeway (Rhea) and Kelly R. Walters (Jason); his sister Judy Ridgeway Tuttle; and his grandchildren, Katelyn Walters, Grayson Walters, Joseph Ridgeway and Edwin Ridgeway. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
