He was predeceased by: his former wife Alpha Mae Miller; his son Howard Freemire; his sister Mary Newton; and his parents, Charlie Miller and Laura Catherine Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Luella Miller; his children, William (Rhonda Freemire), Carl (Jocelyn Miller) and Valorie (David Lawrence); Joe and Meg Dougharty. He is also survived by Nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Jamestown Baptist Church, 4331 Bee Drive, Jamestown, SC 29453.
