It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Metts Locklair of Saint Stephen, South Carolina, who passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry John Metts and Minnie Peagler Metts; her sons, Jimmy Milton Locklair and Wayne "Tugger" Locklair; and her siblings, Carrie Kirby, Liza Harris, Ola Wadford, Eloise Brown and Charlie Metts.
She is survived by: her husband John Osmond "Jack" Locklair, Sr.; and her children, Linda L. Jackson (Henry) of Charleston, Faye L. Smith (Lloyd) of St. Stephen and John O. Locklair, Jr. (Nancy) of Georgetown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and twenty great-great grandchildren.
