She is survived by: her husband Herman Simmons; her children, Judith Kinlaw Payton (Michael), Berlin Kinlaw (Patty Ann), Toria Simmons, Wendy Simmons, Lisa Simmons and Donald Simmons; her siblings, Bettie Mae Kinlaw, Donal Moultrie, Tommie Lee Kinlaw (Juanita), Daisy Fayall (Nolie) and Daniel Kinlaw (Lydia); and her sister-in-law Thelma Kinlaw. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
