She was predeceased by : her husband James Paulin, Jr.; her mother Queen Victoria Bennett; her daughter Patricia Nelson; and her grandson Dawayne Tyson Simmons. She is survived by : her caregivers, Naomi Simmons (George) of St. Stephen, SC and Savila McCray (Jerome) of St. Stephen, SC; her sister Christine Pettigrew of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Robin Gaiters of Potomac Shores, VA, Coreem L. Simmons of St. Stephen, SC, Patrick Paulin of St. Stephen, SC, Damon McCray of St. Stephen, SC and Tristan Simmons (Tirese) of Moncks Corner, SC; her sisters-in-law, Ernestine Wilder of St. Stephen, SC, Rose Marie Paulin of St. Stephen, SC and Ineatha Middleton of St. Stephen, SC; and her cousin James "Pug" Gethers (Gloria Jean) of St. Stephen, SC. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; another great-great grandson.

“From the Pettigrew family we send our deepest condolences, due to medical reasons, we are unable to be there. To the Paulin family, There are no Tears in Heaven nor grief of any kind, she left her final teardrops to those she left behind. Though absent from the body, she is present with the Lord. The joy of her salvation is now a full reward. God bless and rest in peace.”
