It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jesse Whitmire of Salem, South Carolina, who passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Treadaway Whitmire of Salem, SC; his parents, Riley Whitmire and Eloise Whitmire; and his siblings, Riley Whitmire, Roy Whitmire, Jack Whitmire, Inez Whitmire and Pat Lewis.
He is survived by: his children, Warren Whitmire of Salem, Michelle Wirtz (Michael) of Westminster, Kim Lester of Salem and Tammy Sexton of Townville; and his sisters, Sybil Hedden (Ken), Lou Orr (Bo), Lavon Orr and Francis Taylor (Tony). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (596 Lake Jocassee Rd, Salem, SC 29676).
