He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul Smith and Mattie Lou Garner Smith; and his sister Elaine Smith Gaydon. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Ann Robinson Smith of Salem; his sisters, Sandra Smith Cobb (Ron) and Dianne Smith Dornbush (Robert); his nephew Greg Gaydon; and his nieces, Jennifer Davis, Mallory Schwartz, Darcy Cobb, Kirsten Thomas and Cailin Dornbush.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Mark Methodist Church, 616 Quincy Rd.
