He is survived by: his wife Rachel Anne Curado Corder; his children, Sabrina Anne Corder, Brianne Ruth Corder, Latonya Corder, Jennifer Corder and Candy Corder; his mother Janie Ruth Smith (Jerry, Sr.); his in-law Joey Curado (Melissa); and his stepbrothers, Jerome Smith, Jr. and Mark Smith. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations for Melvin's and Rachel's children be made to Calvary Baptist Church at 130 Berlin Church Road, Salley, SC 29137.
