He was predeceased by: his siblings, Sammie Lurk, Jr., James Lurk, Henry Lurk and Robert Lurk. He is survived by: his friend Leona Coates; his children, Alisha Wilson (Franklin) of Saluda, SC and Darrier Johnson of Saluda, SC; his grandchildren, Linkyn Wilson, Jaxton Wilson, Jazmine Johnson, Brittany Cook and Travona Lott; his sisters, Sarah B. Graham of Saluda, SC, Barbara Lurk of Saluda, SC and Betty Jean Miles of Greenwood, SC; and his sister-in-law Essie Lurk. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Butler and Sons Funeral Home Chapel (306 N Bouknight Ferry Rd, Saluda, SC 29138). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Rock Hill Baptist Church (130 Rock Hill Rd, Saluda, SC 29138).
