He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray C. Metts and Lettie Mae Hancock Metts; his wife Dot Metts; his siblings, Winford Metts, Robert Metts, Mildred Perry and Mollie Morgan; and his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Metts and James Perry.
He is survived by: his sons, Kenneth R. Metts (Sharon) of Saluda, Rodney H. Metts (Sally) of Columbia and Alan L. Metts (LeeAnn) of Saluda; his grandchildren, Brittney (Carlos Alvarez), Desirey (Noah Suniga), Morgan Metts (Rebecca), Cody Myers (Jane Metts), John (Hannah Metts), David (Mary Kate Metts), Lee (Mary Rose Metts), Ryan Metts (Catherine Metts), Micah (Brandon Corbin) and Paul (Ashton Metts); his great grandchildren, Austin Suniga, Sara Metts, Thomas Metts, Tatum Holder, Braylee-Rae Holder, Rory Metts, Ender Corbin, Noah Corbin, Elliot Corbin and Annalee Metts; and his siblings-in-law, Glenda Metts and Jim Morgan.
