He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Calvin Wertz and Thelma Black Wertz; and his brother Philip Wertz. He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Wertz (Lynn) of Saluda, Scott Wertz (Daphine) of Saluda and Brett Wertz (Jason) of Atlanta, GA; his siblings, Norma Brown and Keith Wertz of Saluda; and his grandchildren, Heather Hughes, Chelsea Wertz, Misty Holsonback, Holly Rodgers, Ciara Coleman, Heidi Rodgers, Ginger Wertz and Kelly Ouzts. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
