It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bishop Lonnie James Grimsley (Scranton, South Carolina), who passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Warren Lonnie Grimsley and Bertie Wilkes Grimsley; his son Douglas Kevin Grimsley; his siblings, Dorothy Agnes Grimsley Turner, Hubert Lenwood Grimsley and Donald Clark Grimsley; and his sons-in-law, Reverend Robert Levon Broach and Jerry Evans.

He is survived by : his wife Effie Rauch Grimsley of Scranton; his daughters, Judy Broach of Holly Hill and Dianne Varnadoe (Wayne) of Manning; his daughter-in-law Sherry Floyd Grimsley; his grandchildren, Kirk Broach (Eunice), Kimberly Dover (Brian), Justin Evans and Doug Grimsley; his great grandchildren, McKenna Dover, Micah Dover, Ethan Evans, Austin Evans, Trace Grimsley and Caulder Broach; and his siblings, Margaret Grimsley Strickland, Lazette Grimsley Morris and Paul Grimsley.
