He is survived by: his wife Claire Moore Matthews of Coward; his children, Jody Brooks Matthews of Coward and Heather Matthews Causey (Jeremiah) of Coward; his grandchildren, Caleb Brooks Matthews (Madison Franks) of North Charleston, Carmen Louise Matthews (Carson Mixon) of Coward and Carley Danielle Gerald of Coward; his great grandchildren, Kyson James Mixon and Rollins Brix Mixon; and his sister Elaine McElveen (Norman). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, friends.
