He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Porter and Olean Thigpen Porter; his sister Pat Welch; his brother-in-law Gene Conyers; and his in-laws, Jackie Norris, Buck Evans and Shirley Evans.
He is survived by: his daughter Christi Smith (Terry); his grandson Thomas Lee Smith; and his siblings, Martha McArthur (Lee), Dorothy Richburg (Johnny), Shirley Conyers, Ronnie Porter (Melissa), Carl Porter, Tommy Evans Sr. (Susan) and Debbie Porter (late Ray Porter). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
