It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katie Carr (Scranton, South Carolina), who passed away on July 13, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Dr. Marion Carr, Jr.; her parents, Kenneth David Parnell and Willie Mae Gaskin Parnell; her brother-in-law William "Buddy" Gamble; and her stepson Ricky Carr.

She is survived by : her children, Lesley Carr Holladay and Phillip Marion Carr; her grandchildren, Thomas McMillan Holladay and Phillip Ryan Carr; her sisters, Faye Parnell Gamble and Amelia Parnell Atkinson (R. Tony); her uncle James "Jimmy" Phillips; her stepdaughters, Dr. Shirley Bausmith (Bert) and Lynda Martin (Terry); her stepgrandchildren, Craig Stukes, Chad Cottingham and Michelle Carr; and her close friend Tamara Rhodes. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
