He was predeceased by : his mother Betty Jean Stancil; and his grandparents, Thomas, Elizabeth Stancil, Colman and Gladys Whitfield.

He is survived by : his father George Joe Whitfield; his children, Bobby Whitfield (Dominque) of Seneca and Kendall Craig Whitfield (Emily) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Danielle Roberson of Fayetteville, Jason Murray of Seneca, Janilee Whitfield of Seneca, Jalissa Cantrell of Seneca and Kadence Whitfield-Hall of Chicago Illinois; and his siblings, Tim Whitfield and Kimberly Gates.
