He was predeceased by: his former wife Thelma Jean Burkett Kennard; his parents, Earl Kennard and Vera L. Davis Kennard Diltz; and his siblings, James Kennard and Linda Gilliam.

He is survived by: his son Frank Eugene Kennard (India); his fiancée Mary Ann Gambrell; his sister Vera Russell; his grandchildren, Shawn Kennard, Brittany Croney and Alyssa Cox; and his great grandchildren, Ansley Croney and Chase Croney.
