He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert L. Whitener and Beulah Cobb Whitener. He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Simpson Whitener of Seneca; his sons, Danny Ray Whitener of Walhalla and Randy L. Whitener of Walhalla; his stepson Robert Earl Rhodes of Seneca; his daughters, Eileen W. Jackson of Westminster and Gloria Diane Lee of Seneca; his stepdaughter Clararene I. Williams of Seneca; and his siblings, Arthur Whitener of Mountain Rest, Curtis Whitener of Westminster, Carolyn Baker and Judy Jones of Anderson. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.
