With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joel Philip Hunkele of Seneca, South Carolina, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on February 21, 2024 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joel Philip Hunkele to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his wife Laura Ross Hunkele of Seneca; his parents, Joseph Leo and Buela Allison Hart Hunkele; and his brother Dennis Hunkele. He is survived by : his children, David Glen Hunkele (Brooke), Pamela Russell, Lisa Hazlett (John) and Wendy Martinez; and his siblings, Paul Hunkele (Linda), Kathy Sosnouski (Jim) and Faith Moser. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 124, 319 Kenneth St., Walhalla, SC 29691.
