It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lewis Franklin Jernigan (Seneca, South Carolina), who passed away on June 22, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel "Mimi" Jernigan and George R. Jernigan; and his siblings, Betty Zimmerman (Ed), George R. "Bob" Jernigan, Jr. (Dot), Howard P. Jernigan (Gloria) and Walter M. Jernigan (Sheila).

He is survived by: his brother Charles J. Jernigan (Nancy); his wife Sally S. Jernigan; his daughter Vennice E. Ireland (Stan); his grandchildren, Ellen Ireland (Mustafa), Mark Jernigan Ireland, Anna Grace Ireland-Sessions (Jesse) and Beth Ireland; and his sisters, Ethel and Galloway. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Seneca Baptist Church or Collins Children's Home.
