He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Shirley Haygood Phillips; his children, Michael Phillips, Levone Phillips and Yvonne Phillips; and his siblings, Cleve Phillips, David Phillips, W. J. Phillips, Wade Phillips Jr., Marcelle Campbell, June Sargent and Polly Ann Manning.
He is survived by: his children, Peter Darryl Phillips of Phenix City and Deborah Ann O'Neal of Huntsville, Alabama; his sister Mollie Mae Whitner of Mountain Rest; his niece Misty Gossett; and his caregiver Jean Owen.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (361 State Rd S-37-14, Long Creek, SC 29658).
