He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Sanders and Bertha Schlock Sanders; and his siblings, Thomas Albert Sanders, Bobby Otto Sanders, Elizabeth Hemphill and Sue Hellen Prince.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Wilbanks Sanders of Seneca; his adoptive son Steve Holbrooks (Tammy); and his brother-in-law John Milton Wilbanks (Betty). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
