She was predeceased by: her spouse Garvin Wallace Pitts; her parents, J. L. Cox and Alma Broome Cox; and her brother John Cox. She is survived by: her children, Michael Pitts of Seneca, SC and Kathy Pitts Lee of Cullman, AL; her sister Sallie Smith of Seneca, SC; and her great grandchild Wesley Pitts. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Oconee Memorial Park (1923 Blue Ridge Blvd, Seneca, SC 29672).
