We bid farewell to Shelby Jean Owens Hammond of Seneca, South Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 26, 2025 at the age of 69. Shelby Jean Owens touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil James and Agnes Leola Cobb Owens; her siblings, Jerry Owens and Shirley Watkins; her nephews, Paul Owens and Kevin Owens; and her brother-in-law Scott Bentley.
She is survived by: her husband Lonney Elton Hammond; her sons, Christopher Hammond, Brandon Hammond and John Cody Cash (Ashley); her siblings, Dale Owens (Joyce), Ricky Owens (Pat), Wayne Owens (Lynn) and Beverly Bentley; her grandchildren, Austin Hammond, Lily Hammond, Kayleigh Cash and Emmalynn Cash; and her siblings-in-law, Larry Watkins and Kathy Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sandifer Funeral Home (512 E Main St, Westminster, SC 29693). The lying in state will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Utica Baptist Church (4056 Wells Hwy, Seneca, SC 29678). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at the Courtney Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Shelby's memory may be made to the Utica Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 4056 Wells Highway, Seneca, SC 29678.
