We announce the death of Sandra Fort Caplinger of Shulerville, South Carolina, who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 76. Sandra will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Fort and Myrtle Shuler Fort; and her brothers, Hoyt Fort and Durwood Fort. She is survived by: her husband Joseph J. Caplinger, Sr.; her children, Joyce Lynn Caplinger (Otto Wilson, Jr.) of Shulerville and Joseph J. "J. R." Caplinger, Jr. (Chrisy) of Shulerville; her sister Claudette McCarthy (Jack) of Cranberry, PA; her grandsons, Otto Wilson, III (Ashley) and Richard Steele Caplinger; her great grandchildren, Ariel Wilson and Otto Wilson, IV; and her nephew Allen Lyon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dial-Murray Funeral Home (300 W Main St, Moncks Corner, SC 29461). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Shulerville Parish (1691 Shulerville Rd, Jamestown, SC 29453). A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at the New Hope Cemetery (1691 Shulerville Rd, Jamestown, SC 29453).
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to New Hope Shulerville Parish in Sandra's memory.
