He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther A. Young and Lillie Young; and his siblings, Wallace Young and Kathleen Thackston. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Davis (Tommy) of Simpsonville and Cindy Lutz (Eric) of Simpsonville; his grandchildren, Amber Duncan (Matt), Austin Davis, Krista Davis (Miles), Allysa Feltman and Garrett Lutz; his great grandchildren, Marlee Davis, Rileigh Duncan, Ellie Duncan, Matthew Duncan and Carter Duncan; and his sister Mary Ann Griffith.
