He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Pierce and Ethel Mae Langley Pierce; and his wife Jane Pierce. He is survived by: his daughter Robin Pierce Ferguson (Jim) of Mooresville, NC; his stepdaughters, Sherri Cobb Burgess (Tom) and Wendy Cobb Wies (Carl) of Greenville, SC; and his sister Wanda Graf of Mt. Pleasant, TX.. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
