She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Merritt and Myrtice Smith; her spouse Lonnie Edger Riddle Sr.; her children, Lonnie Edger Riddle Jr., Jody Travis Riddle and Tammy Riddle; her siblings, Joan Segars, Florian Merritt, Roger Merritt, Jane Boyd, Chris Martinez and Judy Netchaeff; her great grandchild Zachary Shaver; and her son-in-law Danny Alexander.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Roger Durham, Jacueline Elaine Alexander and Lisa Diane Craddock; her siblings, Jimmy Merritt, June Moore (Charles), Marcia Johnson, Kay Caban and Dale Merritt; and her grandchildren, Chris Shaver (Ross), Tammy James, Natasha Vaughn (Derek) and Melissa Kachel. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Palmetto Mortuary (1017 Mauldin Rd, Greenville, SC 29607). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 11:30 AM and at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to her granddaughter, Natasha Vaughn.
