We announce the death of Lamar Swann of Simpsonville, South Carolina, who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 94. Lamar will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Almer Swann and Mayce Bradley Swann. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sister Juanita Swann Gilbert; his children, Tracy Swann Major, Phillip Swann and Tammy Swann Brown; his grandsons, Marcus Brown, Michael Brown (Breia), Matthew Brown (Mercedes) and Brandon Swann; and his great grandchildren, Chasity, Cali, Jeremiah and Amara. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Union Church (85 Pleasant Grove Rd, Weaverville, NC 28787).
