He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Bill" Caler and Hazel Pugh Caler. He is survived by: his wife Lois L. Carlson Caler; his children, Joyce L. Harris (Danny), Cynthia A. Jones Marcia J. (Brian), Michele Ingram (David) and Michael J. Carlson Sr. (Andra); and his grandchildren, Amanda Sternitzke, Mikayla, Chris Jones, Taylor, Sara Grace, Emma Ingram, Caroline and Michael Jr. Carlson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Graceland East Memorial Park (2206 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681).
