He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Padgett and Dollie Tomberlin Padgett; his former wife Kay Jouret Padgett; his wife Jennie Lazenby Padgett; his siblings, Trilby Blankenship, Camilla Burnette and Robert Padgett; and his son-in-law Freddie N. Jones, III.
He is survived by: his daughters, Laurie P. Jones of Gaffney, SC and Daphne P. DeShields (David) of Greenville, SC; his stepdaughter Lisa R. Shehan (Rick) of Spartanburg, SC; his grandchildren, Anna Bridges (Jarrod), Brent Jones (Heather), Audrey Williams (Josh), Michael DeShields (Elizabeth), Kaitlyn Horner (John) and Alyssa Bennett (Makenly); his stepgrandchildren, Edward Shehan and Katherine Shehan (Riley Matthews); his great grandchildren, Ali Bridges, Nora Jones, Walker Jones, Shepherd Williams, Westin Williams, Zachary DeShields, Henry DeShields, William DeShields, Riley DeShields, Robert Horner, Jack Horner and Liam Bennett; his sister Mary Sneed of Black Mountain, NC; and his sister-in-law Juanita Padgett of Black Mountain, NC. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel (2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Padgett Family Cemetery.
