She was predeceased by: her parents, L. J. Evans and Hattie Virginia Thompson; and her brothers, Larry Thompson and Jerry Thompson. She is survived by: her daughter Sassy McDowell; her grandchildren, Michael R. Jones and Chelsea Jones; her great grandchildren, Juju, Lil Mike, Caden, Elias, Jiking and Jamirr; her brothers, Thomas Tyrone Thompson (Brenda) and Kelly Thompson (Keisha); and her caregiver Reggie Booker. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
