It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Simpson (Spartanburg, South Carolina), who passed away on May 10, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Crawford Lee Dogan and Mary Nell Simpson; and her children, Brian "Keyball" Simpson, Glennis "Glenn" Simpson and Andre'"Chopp" Simpson.

She is survived by : her husband Dennis Walker; and her siblings, Freddie Simpson and Mary Lyles Edwards. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Community Mortuary (102 Marion Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29306). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church (645 Old Howard Gap Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at the Heritage Memorial Gardens (3901 S Church St Ext, Roebuck, SC 29376).
